About this release

SOFT MACHINE was one of the main bands along with PINK FLOYD to emerge from the London underground scene in the mid to late sixties.

This two CD set released at MID PRICE, features founder members ROBERT WYATT, and MIKE RATLEDGE along with HUGH HOPPER and ELTON DEAN.   This was recorded live at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, in April 1970.   As can be heard from the enthusiastic reception by the audience, this was an outstanding SOFT MACHINE set, presented here in glorious Lo-Fi.   Not the greatest sound recording ever issued, but a great historical document.

Tracks:

Disc 1: Slightly All The Time, Out-Bloddy-Rageous, Moon In June, Mousetrap, Noisette, Backwards, Mousetrap – Reprise, Hibou Anemone & Bear.   Disc 2: Facelift, Eamonn Andrews, Esther’s Nose Job, Pigling Bland, I Should’ve Known, Esther’s Nose Job - Reprise
