Live at Bill Graham’s Fillmore West

Live at Bill Graham’s Fillmore West

About this release

Mike Bloomfield was an American guitarist and composer, born in Chicago, Illinois.  He became one of the first popular music superstars of the 1960s to earn his reputation almost entirely on his instrumental prowess, since he rarely sang before 1969.  Respected for his guitar playing, Bloomfield knew and played with many of Chicago's blues legends before achieving his own fame and was instrumental in popularising blues music in the mid-1960s.

Taken from two weekends worth of jam concerts at the Fillmore West in February 1969, this album makes features performances by Nick Gravenites, Mark Naftalin, John Kahn, and Snooky Flowers (among others), with cameos from Taj Mahal and Jesse Ed Davis.

Tracks

It Takes Time, Oh Mama, Love Got Me, Blues On A Westside, One More Mile To Go, It's About Time, Carmelita Skiffle
