The late Robert Calvert is best known for his time with HAWKWIND and in 1972 he wrote their massive hit Silver Machine. He left the band in 1974 and rejoined in 1977 for the album ‘Quark, Strangeness and Charm’.

He and DAVE BROCK formed the HAWKLORDS making one album in 1978 called 25 Years On.   After disbanding the HAWKLORDS, Calvert then returned to his solo career. Sadly he died in 1988 of a heart attack.   This set was recorded live 20th May 1986, and featured SPIRIT OF THE AGE, and QUARK, STRANGE AND CHARM, part of his repertoire with HAWKWIND as well as material from his solo albums.
