Spaced Out was originally released in 1991 and initial copies

of this album are now highly prized collectors items. It was

originally released in a number of limited formats. There were

originally 1,000 copies in a limited 3D sleeve. In addition to

this there was also a limited run of 1,000 CDs, which also

came in a limited edition 3D fold out sleeve. The first 500

copies of each format also included a comic, which had been

signed by the entire band.

The music again could be fairly described as psychedelic

ambient pop or rock and the album featured a special guest in

David Jackson who was of course a former member of Van Der

Graaf Generator and subsequently the band repaid the favour

by guesting on David's solo album Tonewall Stands. The album

was released at around the time that the band started

experimenting with a more ambient direction with the offshoot

band Astralasia and in many ways the influence of that direction

can be heard on this album particularly in the track Astralasia.

Another track on the album entitled Aquasian features Kim and

Gary's daughter gurgling so they were obviously keen to keep

the performing side of things in the family. The band also

released their debut single at this time and lifted the track

Pictures In My Mind that whilst being pretty representative of

the band was hardly single material.

Spaced Out is the second in a series of re issues, which will

see the band's back catalogue re vamped and re mastered

over the next twelve months.
