Although they were loosely affiliated with the UK underground scene in the late sixties, THE THIRD EAR BAND was in some ways more of an experimental ensemble performing contemporary compositional work. They did not use any electrical instruments or guitars playing instead violin, viola, oboe, cello, and hand percussion. Founded by drummer GLEN SWEENEY, they recorded a number of albums for EMI’s progressive rock label HARVEST. ‘Magic Music’ was originally released in 1998, and the band still led by founder SWEENEY.
